Happy Yorkshire Day from Headway Huddersfield & District
Today we’re proudly celebrating Yorkshire Day — a moment to recognise the strength, resilience and community spirit that make our region so special. For us at Headway Huddersfield & District, it’s also a chance to reflect on what it means to support people right here in the heart of West Yorkshire.
Since 2004, we’ve been supporting brain injury survivors across Calderdale and Kirklees, helping individuals and families rebuild their lives after injury. Every week, our work focuses on reducing social isolation, restoring confidence, and creating safe, welcoming spaces where people can connect, share experiences and feel understood.
From our friendly drop‑in sessions to our much‑loved trips and activities, everything we do is designed to bring people together. These moments of connection — a chat over a cup of tea, a shared laugh on a day out, a new skill learned in a session — are often the building blocks of recovery.
None of this would be possible without our brilliant volunteers, supporters and committee. Their dedication, compassion and commitment are at the heart of every session, every outing and every achievement. We’re deeply grateful for everything they do.
As we celebrate Yorkshire Day, we’re proud to stand alongside the people and communities who make this region extraordinary. If you’d like to learn more about our work, get involved, or join us at a session, we’d love to welcome you.
Our next drop‑in takes place on Wednesday 2nd September 2026 — come along, meet the team, and see how we can support you or someone you care about.
Happy Yorkshire Day from all of us at Headway Huddersfield & District. Here’s to community, connection and the Yorkshire spirit that keeps us moving forward.
