Take on a Sponsored Challenge and Help Change Lives After Brain Injury
Every day across Calderdale and Kirklees, people are rebuilding their lives after brain injury. The journey is often long, unpredictable and emotionally demanding — not only for survivors, but for their families, friends and wider support networks. Confidence can fade, independence can be shaken, and isolation can quietly take hold.
At Headway Huddersfield & District, we work to make sure no one faces that journey alone. Our drop‑in sessions, wellbeing activities, community trips, information stands, advocacy work and digital support all exist to help survivors reconnect, rebuild and regain confidence.
But we can only continue this vital work with the help of people who believe in what we do.
That’s where you come in.
Take on a Sponsored Challenge for Headway
We’re inviting supporters, friends, families, workplaces and community groups to take on a sponsored challenge to raise funds for brain injury survivors across our region. Whether you’re looking for a personal goal, a team activity or a workplace wellbeing initiative, your challenge can make a real difference.
And the best part? You can choose something that suits your interests, your ability and your schedule.
Here are some ideas to get you started:
Swimming challenge – set a distance, a number of laps or a timed swim.
Running – from a 5K to a half marathon, or even a full marathon if you’re feeling ambitious.
Cycling – take on a scenic route, a long‑distance challenge or a group ride.
Hiking – choose a local trail, a peak, or a multi‑day trek.
Squat challenge – 100 squats a day, a weekly target, or a month‑long fitness commitment.
Marathon or endurance event – push your limits while raising vital funds.
Or create your own challenge – baking, dancing, rowing, dog‑walking, yoga… if it motivates you, it works.
Every challenge — big or small — helps us continue providing support that reduces isolation, builds confidence and brings survivors together in meaningful ways.
Your Effort Makes a Difference
The funds you raise help us deliver:
Drop‑in sessions that offer connection and reassurance
Confidence‑building activities and trips out
Awareness stands at conferences and events
Support for families and carers
Digital resources, social media updates and accessible information
Training, community outreach and wellbeing programmes
Your challenge directly supports people rebuilding their lives after brain injury.
