Drop‑In Session Round‑Up – 1st July 2026
Lindley Methodist Church Centre
Our July drop‑in session was one of our busiest and most enjoyable yet, bringing together members, families and carers from across Calderdale and Kirklees for an evening of creativity, connection and community.
Getting Ready for the Summer Ball
We kicked off the session with a hands‑on activity: making party favours for our Annual Summer Ball fundraiser. Members worked together to assemble the little gift bags that were handed out at the event. It was a lovely mix of teamwork, laughter and shared purpose — and a great way for everyone to contribute to one of our biggest fundraising nights of the year.
A Visit from Huddersfield Green Watch
The highlight of the evening was a special visit from Green Watch at Huddersfield Fire Station, who brought along a fire engine for our members to explore. The crew spent time chatting with everyone, answering questions about firefighting, equipment, and fire safety.
This visit was a brilliant warm‑up for our August outing, when we’ll be heading to Huddersfield Fire Station for a full behind‑the‑scenes experience.
Why Our Drop‑In Sessions Matter
Our drop‑ins, held on the first Wednesday of every month (except August and December), provide a welcoming space for brain injury survivors, their families and carers. Whether someone is adjusting to a recent injury or has been part of Headway Huddersfield for over 22 years, everyone is valued and supported.
We offer guidance, peer connection, activities, and a safe place to talk — all designed to help people rebuild confidence, independence and community after brain injury.
