📚 Supporting You Every Step of the Way: Explore the Headway Information Library
At Headway Huddersfield and District, we know that life after brain injury can feel overwhelming. Whether you're a survivor, a family member, or a carer, having access to clear, compassionate information can make all the difference.
That’s why we’re proud to share the Headway UK Information Library—a trusted resource designed to support you through every stage of recovery and adjustment. Covering a wide range of topics, the library offers practical guidance, emotional insight, and expert advice tailored to the real-life challenges faced by our community.
🧠 What’s Inside the Library?
The library is divided into eight easy-to-navigate sections:
About Brain Injury – Understand the causes, types, and impact of brain injury
Effects of Brain Injury – Learn about cognitive, emotional, and physical changes
Employment and Education – Explore your rights and options for returning to work or study
Family Issues and Relationships – Find support for navigating changes in personal dynamics
Legal Issues – Get informed about capacity, compensation, and advocacy
Practical Issues – Discover tips for daily living, driving, and housing
Translated Information – Access key resources in multiple languages
Welfare Benefits – Understand the financial support available to you
All of these resources are available online via Headway UK’s website, but we know that not everyone finds digital access easy—or personal.
🏡 Local Access at Our Monthly Drop-In
To make this information even more accessible, we offer printed copies of key resources at our Monthly Drop-In Session, held at:
Lindley Methodist Church Centre, East Street, Lindley, Huddersfield1st Wednesday of every month 7:00pm – 9:00pm
Whether you’re looking for guidance, connection, or simply a friendly face, our drop-in is a welcoming space where you can browse the library, ask questions, and chat with others who understand.
💬 Let’s Navigate This Together
We believe that informed support is empowered support. If you or someone you care about is living with the effects of brain injury, the Information Library is a great place to start—and we’re here to help you make sense of it.
