Committee Meeting Update – 4 August 2026

Our committee met on Tuesday 4 August to review recent activities, plan upcoming events, and continue strengthening support for brain injury survivors across Huddersfield & Halifax, in Calderdale and Kirklees.

Welcome to Our New Committee Member

We’re delighted to welcome Georgina Reed to the Headway Huddersfield & District committee. Georgina brings lived experience, professional insight, and a passion for supporting our community.

Recent Highlights

July Drop‑in

A fantastic session filled with creativity, teamwork and a surprise visit from Huddersfield Fire Station. Members enjoyed making party favours and exploring the fire engine with the crew.

July Canal Barge Trip

Despite a few last‑minute cancellations, those who joined us had a wonderful day on the water. Thank you to everyone who came along.

What’s Coming Up

Drop‑ins

September: Huddersfield University Health & Wellbeing Team return with optional health checks and wellbeing workshops.
October: Activity to be confirmed.
November: Christmas craft session.
December: Christmas Lunch replaces the drop‑in.

Outings

September: Archery at Honley (evening session planned).
October: Yorkshire & Humber Activity Day in Doncaster — places available.
October: Halloween Curry Night
November: Ten‑pin bowling, with extra lanes this year.
December: Christmas Lunch at Rigg House Golf Club.

Study Day – 30 September 2026

Tickets are now live on Eventbrite. This year’s Study Day will feature expert speakers, interactive exhibitor stands, and new engagement activities including a prize draw for delegates. We look forward to welcoming professionals from across the region.

Summer Ball

Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s Summer Ball — the feedback has been fantastic. Planning is already underway for Summer Ball 2027, which will take place on 8 July with a 1990s Revival theme.
