Volunteers Week 2025

Volunteers’ Week is back Mon 2 June – Sun 8 June It’s time to celebrate all things volunteering! Join us in thanking our volunteers.

Headway Huddersfield and District has been caring for brain injury survivors for 21 years in 2025 across Calderdale and Kirklees in West Yorkshire. During that time volunteers are the backbone of the support we provide.

We receive no statutory funding - all the events, outings, support and provision of services are provided by our fundraising efforts by our volunteers. Our service users would suffer social isolation as it is volunteers who plan, arrange and attend events allow our members to get out and about.

Our volunteers run our branch of Headway - the brain injury association and we would like to thank them for arranging outing, running drop in sessions, host online events, carrying out risk assessments, supporting our service users, their families and carers when they face problems with authorities, the DWP and the judicial system.

You can get involved as much and as often as you like from a couple of hours a month at a drop in session, helping running outings, fundraising, undertaking sponsorship challenges and helping run our committee.
