February 2025 drop in session

Our drop in sessions take place on the 1st Wednesday of the month in the church centre at Lindley Methodist Church, East Street, Lindley, Huddersfield, HD3 3ND between 7pm to 9pm.

Our February 2025 session took place on Wednesday evening and our members heard about the events and drop in sessions we have planned for the year, which includes a presentation and trip out with the Penistone Line Partnership, a trip to the West Yorkshire Print Works and ten pin bowling.

Our Vice Chair, Gill Buckingham, played quiz host and took us through a game of Thoughts and Crosses. This game got everyone of all abilities involved with the unique game scoring points when only one person had a unique answer. Michael, one of our long time members spun the wheel and landed on the latter M. We then completed 9 squares on the game card to fill with words starting with the letter M.

A song starting with the letter M resulted in answers of My Ding A Ling, Mandy and Monday Monday. A bird starting with the letter M were Magpie, Mocking Bird and Macaw. An electrical item brought us Mobile, Microphone, Microwave, Motor and Mower.

Michael won the game with 9 very unique answers - well done Michael!

Huge thanks to our volunteers this evening. Jodie for taking and preparing the hot and cold drinks orders and to Andrea for washing up services. The members expressed thanks to Switalskis Solicitors for the Bettys of Harrogate biscuits.

Our next drop in takes place on Wednesday 5th March at 7pm at Lindley Methodist Church. New members are always welcome, their families and carers. Supporters and volunteers are very much encouraged. Sponsorship of a drop in session is welcome with a donation of £50 to cover room hire and refreshments.
