HEADWAY HUDDERSFIELD AND DISTRICT
Improving the lives of brain injury survivors
Our Charity helps raise funds through various programmes and initiatives across Calderdale and Kirklees council areas, and we’d love for you to get involved with Headway Huddersfield and District. We depend on your support in order to improve the lives of brain injury survivors, their carers and their families.
We are a branch of Headway - the brain injury association. There are over 125 groups and branches across the UK supporting people in their local communities, each of which works hard to raise funds at a local level to continue to provide and develop the services they offer.
WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO
Supporting brain injury survivors, their carers and families.
A community and disability support group where people with brain injuries are valued, respected and supported to fulfill their potential.
We run on a purely voluntary basis and funding is provided through fundraising and grants.
Supporting those affected by brain injury
We currently hold a monthly drop in meeting in Huddersfield on the first Wednesday of the month with plans to open drop in sessions in 2020 in Dewsbury and Halifax.
Our social meetings are usually held on the last Wednesday of the month and include dinners out, visits to places of interest, our annual canal barge trip and trips out to venues across the North of England
BRAIN INJURY SUPPORT
One of our goals is to ensure that those with a brain injury in our area are safe and can turn to someone for advice. With your generous donations and volunteering efforts, you have the capacity to help us in our endeavour of helping our brain injury survivors. Contact us to learn more.
Our current services have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic - as such our social meetings and trips out have been replaced by twice monthly zoom meetings
